10 - How to train your brain for success - part 2


You'll learn a practice that you can use to create the identity you want


In this episode you’re going to learn to do something so easy, that you’ll wonder why you haven’t thought of it beforehand. 


I’m going to show you how to create a vision for your life. 


If that sounds’s because it is. About as vague as a lot of people’s vision of what they want in life. 


Sure, everyone wants to be happier and wealthier and more successful, but what does that really mean? In other words, what would that actually look like for you to be happier and wealthier and more successful? 


What is it that you actually want to achieve specifically? 


Because here’s the thing, you can only achieve success if you have the right habits. And your identity creates your habits. Therefore, you don’t just need to know what you want, you have to know who you want to be


You have to actually know what it looks like for you to be happy and successful. Who is that person? How do they dress? Where do they live? What do they have for breakfast in the morning? How do they actually spend their time?


Now...that question is more difficult, but it’s crucial, because you won’t create the habits that make you successful until you transform your identity into what it takes to get there. 


It’s easy to do who you are, but difficult to do who you are not. So if you want to “do success” then you have to “be success.” 


But what does that look like?


So, to repeat myself, I’m going to show you how to create a vision for your life. Not something vague. Something concrete. Something you can picture in your mind. Because you have to be able to picture the person that you want to be in order to start changing your habits for success.

  • What does self-image mean, what does it do, and how much awareness do you have of your self-image?


  • How your self-image determines your habits. If you want to change your habits, then you have to change your self-image


  • Habits aren’t good or bad. They’re just behaviors your brain has developed in response to your environment. Once you understand that, you can start getting rid of the ones you don’t want 


  • What percentage of your actions are habits and why this means that you can’t simply control behaviors with conscious effort


  • Vision boards are not enough - you need to do more than plan out the next steps you’ll take to succeed


  • Finally, I’ll give you a practice you can start doing today that will help you train your brain to get the identity you want
